With the financial support from the Program BRD, improved access to the Lesok Monasteries

 

By improving the accessibility and arrangement of the space funded by the Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Bureau for Regional Development, the Lesok Monastery becomes even more attractive to visitors. Today, the Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski with the Deputy Prime Minister LjupcoNikolovski, the Mayor of TearceIsen Asani and the Director of the Bureau for Regional Development Ramiz Rexhepi inspected the construction works on the old residence.

- The monastery has always been much visited as a spiritual temple, but also as an attractive picnic spot not only for the inhabitants of this area, but also from Skopje and other parts of the country. The Ministry of Local Self-Government and the Bureau for Regional Development financially supported the realization of the project worth 3,500,000 denars, but all works were completed with significant savings and 2,308,000 denars, said the Minister of Local Self-Government Goran Milevski.

The municipality of Tearce applied for the project, and the funds are provided by the Program for balanced regional development, specifically to support the development of areas with specific development needs.

- We support local and regional development. These infrastructure is an added value to the natural potentials and the cultural heritage of Lesok, Tearce and the Polog planning region, added Milevski.

 

The Lesok Monastery is an important monument of the Orthodox spiritual and cultural heritage. In this Orthodox monastery complex is the tomb and memorial room of Kiril Pejcinovic who is one of the most famous Macedonian revivalists of the XIX century.
